Surprise-Surprise-YUM!

Psychedelic Phenomenology

It depends upon many factors,
the dose,
the day,
your ability to be aware of your states and their perturbations.

It can come on like a mac-truck, your awareness smashing through previously unconscious perspectives and assumptions with reborn thought.

But most times,
the feeling comes upon you,
like the creeping vines around your eyes,
or a certain glimmer,
a shimmer, or ray,
grabs hold of your brain.
Colors, moods, temperatures, change.

surfing channels of imagination and consciousness, modalities of thought.
Your inner neurology projected on all.
Feedback loops and melting time,
Remembering, remembering,
everything is a sign.  

Next stop, Novelty

 It may be hard to acknowledge it now,
but the time will come,
sooner than you may think,
that humanity will look back upon this time,
with a nostalgic longing for these,
simpler times.

Two trends make themselves readily apparent when one follows the line of time:

As time goes on, all things change.

In addition to change,
all things orient themselves toward,
and attain,
greater levels of complexity.

The Renaissance will look like a carnival,
compared to what's coming.

Arena

 We raise our children to tell the truth,
but the police, psychologists, and lawyers
are all legally allowed to lie to you.

Those are just some occupations,
protected by law,
while most politicians, ad men, and saints,
dance like a tiger,
atop the high-wire,

Everything has been weaponized,

the revolution can't be televised.

Any concept, any tactic,
underminded,
with a single step.

Only the unreasonable
are unaware

of the limits of logic,
the reach of reason,
That there is something much older and wiser,
seeded deep beneath them.

Prior to naming,
Prior to sight,
Prior to hearing,
Primacy of presence,
of being,
embodied.
