The Poison Flower Blooms

 Us versus them?
then it will never end.

They call it the holy land,
but to me it is cursed.

It makes men small
and makes them act in ways which are opposite to god

Each blow only gives the otherside
more "reason" to dehumanize
it is literally a conflict as old as recorded time.

Repeat, Repeat, Repeat

Each side taking turns as instigator,
Once the victim,
Now the perpetrator.

Back and forth,
the partners move,
not realizing that this dance of death
always takes at least two.

like a poison flower,
it is always noxious,
but randomly blooms,
and when it does,
then war looms.

What do the wardens expects
when they make life in a jail cell
worse than death?
When the inmates have nothing left to lose?

To acknowledge this truth
is not to condone or justify the violence and atrocious actions of the inmates,
but to see that this is just another way that the poisoned flower blooms.
