New buds, on old trees

"Everything is falling apart,
Can't you see?
 you imbecile,
 you idiot,
you fool"

They aren't wholly right,
nor are they wholly wrong.
Regardless,
my eyes see,
The new buds, on old trees.

Simultaneously,
everything is always falling apart,
and coming back together again.
It depends on where you choose to see.

And they say to me,
"Everything is falling apart,
Can't you see,
 you imbecile,
 you idiot,
you fool",

With their eyes transfixed on their screens,
while mine remain on,
The new buds, on old trees.

Forget not your spirit!
That which beats and breathes!
Forget not that which you have had,
Since your time, conceived.
It came before constructs
Of action, space, and time,
And remains with you,
Although it hides.
Forget not your soul,
In our soulless roles,
And instead hold true
To your intrinsic values.

Apart from money, from status,
From all this insane game,
Hold true to your vision!
Your heart!
Till your spirit is aflame!

The Last Lie

The last lie,
an everlasting splinter,
lodged in my mind.

How I wanted to spare you.
You;
who have already shed so many tears,
in such a short amount time.

The last lie,
an everlasting splinter,
lodged in my mind.

It would bubble up,
but the time was never right.
The more I pushed it down,
The deeper it dwelt, the more it swelled.

Somehow we found a peace,
but every time you spoke fondly of me,
-that splinter would make me screech.

The last lie,
an everlasting splinter,
lodged in my mind.

Releasing soul to flame,
entering the abyss,
Purged,
Cleaned,
Renewed,
and yet the splinter still hissed.

I knew what I had to do.
I only hoped you'd ask me why.
Of course you didn't,
Only who, when what.

How I wanted to spare you.
You;
who have already shed so many tears,
in such a short amount years.

The last lie,
an everlasting splinter,
lodged in my mind.

Finally freed,
I had to abide.
I only hope it softens your heart,
We are all flawed,
We all miss the mark,
but I'm sorry,

I've been sorry since the start.

The last lie,
an everlasting splinter,
finally freed,
I'm sorry and goodbye.
