Discernment and Separation

Without discernment we are lost in a chaotic sea of overwhelming complexity.

...Too much discernment, and the mind convinces itself that its categories have their own physicality, creating the illusion and feeling of separation.

When discernment is practiced, and one remains vigilant of the tendency of the mind to confuse its own discernment with separation, then and only then can one come closer to seeing things as they are, with greater beauty, with greater awe, with greater respect.

So what was once an overwhelming sea,
then surveyed and processed by discernment,
briefly living in the illusion of separation,
is then re-imaged,
multifaceted, filled with ferocity and awe,
and yet no longer overwhelms.

For it is through discernment, that the pattern, the greater form can be known.
