The Lover of my Love is my Ally.

 In politics and history,
"the enemy of my enemy is my ally"
&
"Nothing unites a people like a common foe."
are lessons which are proclaimed as self evident.
If this is true...

Then why can't a common love unite us?

The Lover of my Love is my Ally.

I think nature could be that love.
A way to bridge all our conceptual, philosophical, and religious divides...
The proliferation, preservation, and collective stewarding of the kaleidoscopic complexity- also known as the beauty of the natural world.
The beauty of nature.
To hold in holy reverence the beauty of all the expressions and emanations of life itself.

The Lover of my Love is my Ally.

Samsara Salsa

 The
Mystery
Of
Totality,

Is A
LONG
Slowdance.

Awareness.
Waxes.
Wanes.

REALIZATION LIKE LIGHTNING
SETTING FIRE TO EVERYTHING

Yet, with the passing of time,
was it only a dream?

Time speeds up.
Recording Dreams.

Watching the patterns
repeat repeat repeat.

What used to take months,
compressed into moments.

One Thing Constant
From Annihilation to NOW:

A CHANGING OF THE INTERFACE
BETWEEN
THE EXPERIENCE OF ONE'S
CENTER

ONES BODY

And The World At Large.

Innumerable generations
using our body wrong.

We ignorantly seek strength,
instead of greater sensitivity.

We command and punish the body,
We
Chastise, Criticize, and Deny...
Just as we have done to mother earth,
since before the age of modernity,
and the rise of the "technologically enlightened atheist"
Also known as,
Modern Man.

I don't plan on having children,
and even still, I hear the call
to remove these blocks,
to restore the clay.
to reimprint power and play
where once was only pain.

To compassionately reteach the body how to function and flow,
that it is safe with me, and encouraged to grow.

To let all those things that are not me-
-yet still within my genes;
(Something scientists refer to as: "Genetically Transferred Intergenerational Trauma")
To let all that go.
Simply.
Completely.
Free.

Equinox Mourning

 I cannot mourn those,
who refused to mourn the entire land,
of Palestine.

The crying out
of an entire people.
While others just deny, deny, deny.

I have had to watch an entire people be slaughtered and evicted from their homes,
In real time.
How can I spare even a moment for someone who refused
to look at things,
 for what they really are.

Palestine is the shame of the world.
How can we call our selves civilized?
How can we pretend to be technological masterminds?

I feel sadness,
I feel nostalgia,
he was kind to those he liked,
but he was always a douche to the servers.
and in these days of growing darkness,
I have larger and more pressing things to mourn.

Historical Exploration of the Use of Cannabis

The Ancient Roots:
Cannabis in Early Civilizations

1. Ancient China (Circa 2700 BCE)

  • Evidence: The earliest recorded use of cannabis dates back to ancient China, attributed to Emperor Shen Nung, a legendary figure known as the “Father of Chinese Medicine.” In his pharmacopeia, penned around 2700 BCE, Shen Nung documented cannabis (referred to as “ma”) as a remedy for ailments like rheumatism, gout, and malaria.
  • Use: The Chinese likely used the whole cannabis plant—seeds, leaves, and flowers—either smoked, ingested as tea, or applied topically. While they didn’t isolate CBD, the plant’s therapeutic effects suggest that compounds like CBD were unknowingly harnessed.
  • Context: Hemp, a variety of cannabis low in THC, was also cultivated for its fibers to make rope, textiles, and paper, cementing cannabis’s dual role in Chinese society.

2. Ancient India (Circa 2000 BCE)

  • Evidence: Cannabis appears in the sacred texts of Hinduism, such as the Atharva Veda (circa 2000–1400 BCE), where it’s listed as one of five sacred plants. Known as “bhang,” cannabis was consumed in drinks, smoked, or used in rituals.
  • Use: Indian healers employed cannabis to treat pain, digestive issues, and even psychological conditions, likely tapping into CBD’s calming properties alongside THC’s psychoactive effects.
  • Context: Cannabis held spiritual significance, believed to connect users to divine energies, a tradition still echoed in some modern practices.

3. Ancient Egypt (Circa 2000 BCE)

  • Evidence: The Ebers Papyrus (circa 1550 BCE), one of the oldest medical texts, mentions cannabis as a treatment for inflammation and glaucoma. Archaeological finds, like cannabis pollen in the tomb of Pharaoh Ramses II (circa 1200 BCE), further confirm its use.
  • Use: Egyptians may have applied cannabis preparations topically or ingested them, benefiting from CBD’s anti-inflammatory potential without isolating it.
  • Context: Cannabis’s presence in Egypt highlights its spread across ancient trade routes, from Asia to Africa.

4. Mesopotamia and Beyond (Circa 1000 BCE)

  • Evidence: Assyrian tablets from Mesopotamia reference cannabis as a medicinal herb, while ancient Greeks and Romans later adopted it for rope-making and healing.

Cannabis in Native American Rituals

Our journey begins with the Native American tribes, who have a deep-rooted history of using cannabis in their spiritual rituals. Some tribes, such as the Lakota Sioux, have incorporated cannabis into their sacred ceremonies as a means to connect with the spiritual realm. Cannabis, often referred to as “chanunpa” or “pejuta,” is believed to facilitate communication with ancestors and deities.

South American Shamanism: Ayahuasca and Cannabis

In South America, particularly among the Amazonian indigenous tribes, cannabis is sometimes used in conjunction with Ayahuasca, a powerful hallucinogenic plant brew. While Ayahuasca is the primary focus of these ceremonies, cannabis is occasionally included for its potential to enhance the experience and facilitate communication with the spirit world.

Rastafarian Faith and Sacramental Cannabis Use

The Rastafarian faith, originating in Jamaica, incorporates cannabis into its spiritual practices. Cannabis, referred to as “ganja,” is considered a sacrament that enhances meditation, prayer, and religious gatherings. Rastafarians believe that cannabis is a tool for connecting with the divine and achieving spiritual enlightenment.

Cannabis in Native Alaskan Traditions

Among Native Alaskan communities, cannabis has been used for various healing purposes. Cannabis is considered a part of their traditional pharmacopeia and has been employed in rituals aimed at promoting physical and spiritual well-being. Some communities have recognized the plant’s potential for addressing pain and mental health concerns.

Clear Sight

 Our desires make us moths.
No matter how large or small,
it is still a flame,
and when we attain it,
we are annihilated in the blaze.

Whether your desire is realized
or unattained,
both become traps,
or walls of your maze.

I play defense as the moth dives headfirst toward the candle on my desk,
How many times have I done the same, and was swatted away,
unexplainably, narrowly,
escaping death?

We forget:
That what is real
and what is true,
are not necessarily together-glued.

For many unreal things are true,
and many real things are false.

The desire for certainty,
hell even clarity,
can end up being the bars to the prison of your very being.

For when we are wanting,
or when we are afraid,
or when we are hating,
or playing petty games,
it is impossible to see clearly.
And each action only complexifies and elongates the entanglement.

Nocturnal Suburban Jungle

 Giving cream to street cats,
underneath the waxing crescent moon.

No one else is around.

No one else to see us dance,
to hear us laugh.

...

Two skunks on a first date.
Him in his sharpest black,
Her in her finest white.
I would have brought some eggs, fruits, and nuts,
Had I known it was tonight.
No need.
The trashcan provides them heavenly delights.
She will join him in his burrow for more than just sleep.

...

A lone baby bunny,
silently surfs the surfaces of the witching hour,
every night,
for a full week.
Where is your family baby bunny?

...

A mother deer and her quickly growing fawn,
relax almost invisible
on the nocturnal suburban lawn.

Where is the elder Elk?
I have not seen him all season.

Why all these animals?
What is the reason?

...
