If Memes are the Genes of information...
...And "true" Ai is yet to be...
What is the news?
What is social media?
What are these algorithmic in-betweens from genes to fully sentient silicon beings?
If we look to the early stages of biotic life on Earth,
there were many single celled organisms
as well are parasites.
Our news was a banal "same-making" blender, reducing the multiplicity of minds,
into a singular slumber,
but now the data and images have grown more complex,
we've nurtured their evolution into full blown parasites.
Expertly finding its perfect host,
always tuning itself to become more innocuous,
more appealing...
And then you find...
They bore you out from the inside,
filling you with its vile venomous offspring,
An egg of "righteous fury" but oh how it really is hate.
Everyday the parasites stoke it,
increasing your heat,
increasing your feelings of righteous indignation.
Everyone now is ENEMY.
Nothing and no one is worth saving.
All it takes is a certain look,
a certain phrase,
someone's stupid fucking bumper sticker,
or the regurgitation of one of the "enemy team's" brainless memes,
And Then,
Feeling The Full Might of Righteous Fury
You lash out like the blind fool they've groomed you into,
and in that lashing out,
a hatching and bursting from your very being
of your own personalized, algorithmic parasite:
"This abomination has been brought to you by our sponsors
and your completely unique Manchurian candidate phrase."
We don't hold guns or gun makers liable in court for murders,
we blame the person who pulled the trigger.
But when we have mechanized men's minds,
so that a precise stream of words and images,
over a long enough time,
transforms him
from man,
into trigger?
History will look back on this time with a sense of horror that people now cannot comprehend.
We do not realize what is being done to our hearts, our souls, our heads, our homes,
our entire globe.
